About Dr. Jon Haskel

Dr. Haskel completed his orthopaedic surgery residency at NYU Langone Orthopedic Hospital (formerly Hospital for Joint Diseases) in New York City. He was elected by his peers and faculty to serve as an Executive Chief Resident in his final year of training. While in residency, he served as a team physician for the NYU and Long Island University Men’s and Women’s basketball programs, the NYC Public High School Athletic League, and the Alvin Ailey Dance Theater.

Following residency, Dr. Haskel completed an additional year of training in Vail, CO at the world renowned Steadman Clinic and Steadman-Philippon Research Institute. Over the course of this year, he worked with the premier sports experts around the world, receiving training in minimally invasive arthroscopic techniques in the shoulder, knee, elbow, and hip. He has authored over thirty peer-reviewed research papers and book chapters and his research has been presented at both national and international meetings. Additionally, he serves as a journal reviewer for the American Journal for Sports Medicine (AJSM) and Orthopaedic Journal for Sports Medicine (OJSM).

Dr. Haskel has been a physician for the US Ski and Snowboard Teams, providing medical coverage for events from Colorado to Switzerland, and continues to serve as an active physician for the US Olympic Ski and Snowboard teams.

Dr. Jon Haskel is an attending orthopaedic surgeon and sports medicine specialist based in Princeton, NJ associated with Princeton Orthopaedic Associates and is a Clinical Associate of Orthopaedic Surgery at Penn Medicine.

As a sports medicine specialist, Dr. Haskel’s comprehensive experience enables him to take care of patients with a variety of injuries involving the shoulder, elbow, and knee joints, as well as fractures, sprains, and strains. Dr. Haskel gets patients returning to their activities safely and efficiently, from recreational athletes to Olympic level competitors.

Dr. Haskel completed his undergraduate education at Duke University where he rowed on the Duke Men’s Crew Team. After college, he attended Rutgers Robert Wood Johnson Medical School where he developed an interest in orthopaedic surgery.
